Xiaomi will update many devices to Android Nougat. The first to receive it, after Mi 5 which has already received its first public beta, will be the Xiaomi Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Notes and Max, and later they will be added to the others.
However, it seems that we will not have to wait that too long for the release of the first version to the public for these smartphones, since the closed beta of MIUI 8 based Nougat have already been issued to various beta testers. To confirm this, we were recovered some screenshots made on the Chinese MIUI forum in which the various threads regarding precisely these versions are shown.
This will surely rejoice all owners of these smartphones but, if we consider that among them there are two who have the last year model(Mi 4c and Mi Note), there is a good chance that many of the previous generation smartphone can receive this update. Moreover, if we take as an example the Xiaomi Mi 5, we can assume that within a month, other devices will begin to receive the first public Beta MIUI.
Considerations MIUI with Nougat for Snapdragon 800/801
Not many are aware of the issue that has arisen with the release of the new version of Android (Nougat) towards the middle of this year. Specifically, the two GPU SoC Snapdragon 800 and 801 are not compatible with the Vulkan APIs that are integrated into Android Nougat and Qualcomm did not release graphics drivers for them. As a result, all smartphones that integrate these SoC probably could not get in an official upgrade to Android Nougat. However, this does not seem to be a willingness to Xiaomi that, from what we have seen, has already started the development of this new distribution of Android on the notes that I have precisely one CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 801.
